I don't know if you've been following the news but it's amazing what happens when the Internet and the actions of a few can have a dramatic effect on everyday life. For example take the blogger that saved the world.

This was on Slashdot last week I think, basically what happened was the Hubble detected an object headed to Earth from the direction of the Trogdor Cluster. They analyzed the images and found some sort of alien lifeform inside.

Thing landed near Schiller Park in the backyard of one of our customers, guy who runs JohnnyTellsIt.com. Just a basic Wordpress customer of ours but he saw this smouldering crater outside his window and bounding out of it comes this big blob with teeth.

So he jumps on the computer and does what any good netizen does - he blogs about it and puts the word out to his readers warning them of the impending gelatinous monster apocalypse.

The news spread fast and we came at the monster with everything we had. The fierce battle lasted a few hours, in the end the monster was vanquished.
